The Tallin 160 is the compact end of the cube range, and the one that arrives fully specified. Thermowood throughout, a full glass front, and a bronze glass door — none of it optional, none of it an upgrade. At 1.6 m deep it fits a small garden, a courtyard or a side return, and it seats up to three.

That specification is worth understanding before you compare it with the larger Tallin 200. The 200 is a bigger room, but its entry price is the spruce build with a solid front and a glazed door. The 160 is thermowood with a full glass wall as standard. You are not paying more for less space; you are paying for the materials and the glazing that the bigger cabin charges extra for.

Why thermowood matters

Thermowood is timber kiln-treated at 180–220°C in a low-oxygen chamber. That is not a surface coating. It changes the wood itself, closing the cells so it absorbs far less moisture — which is what stops outdoor timber cupping, twisting and splitting through a British winter. No chemical preservatives are involved. It arrives a deep honey-brown and weathers to a stable silver.

42 mm side walls, 28 mm back. Thick walls are where heat retention comes from: a well-insulated 4.9 m³ room reaches temperature quickly and holds it, so a modest heater does the job and running costs stay sensible.

Run it on gas — no electrician, no cable across the garden

This is the option almost nobody else offers, and for a lot of gardens it is the one that makes a sauna possible at all.

A FinSteam gas heater runs on a standard propane bottle — the same sort you would use for a patio heater or a barbecue. No armoured cable, no trench across the lawn, no electrician quote you had not budgeted for. If your garden has no power at the far end, this is how you still get a sauna there.

Or choose an electric heater

Because the benches run the full width, the Tallin 160 takes a wall-mounted heater — that is what keeps the bench and floor space usable. Our Harvia Wall is black steel with a full 20 kg stone capacity for softer, steadier löyly, integrated controls and a 2-year warranty.

All electric heaters must be installed and connected by a qualified electrician. We confirm the exact supply requirement with you before installation.

Prefer a different heater — HUUM, a WiFi-controlled model, or a wood-burning stove? Choose cabin only and talk to us; we can supply and fit most makes.

2-year warranty

The Tallin 160 carries a 2-year warranty on the cabin structure, and the heaters carry their own manufacturer warranty.

Thermowood is stable and rot-resistant by nature, but like any outdoor timber it lasts longest if you treat the exterior and keep it treated. We will tell you exactly what to use and when. Look after it and this is a cabin that will outlast the warranty by a wide margin.

Lead time — please ask before you order

Lead time depends on stock and specification, and it moves. Depending on what is already built and how the factories are running, it can be anywhere from a couple of weeks to around four months.

Ask us and we will give you the real date for your build before you commit — we would rather tell you the honest timescale up front than quote a comfortable number and disappoint you later.

Getting it into your garden

• Base: level and well-drained — a slab, paving or compacted gravel all work. Minimum 160 × 200 cm, plus room to walk around it.
• Access: delivered flat-packed on one pallet just over 2 m long, so the parts go through a standard side gate. No crane, no dismantling fences.
• Assembly: typically a day for two people, or leave it to our installation team.
• Sequence: most customers build the cabin first, then have the heater and lighting connected once it is in position.
