Collection: Outdoor Barrel Saunas

Outdoor Barrel Saunas — UK Gardens

The classic Finnish barrel design: curved walls drive even convective heat (no hot pockets), the rounded shape sheds rain, and you get a properly cosy session inside without filling half the garden.

The barrel form heats efficiently — typically 30 minutes to working temperature on a 6kW heater, around £1.75–£2.25 per 90-minute session at 30p/kWh. Real Finnish heat: water on the stones, löyly, the lot.

Why barrel over cube

A barrel sauna with the same internal volume as a cube uses about 20–25% less wood (less surface area), heats slightly faster, and rejects rain without a complex roof. The trade-off: less interior headroom and less floor area for benches at the same external footprint.
