Collection: Garden Sauna Pods
Garden Sauna Pods — UK
A garden sauna pod is a curved outdoor sauna: an arched or oval shell rather than a square cabin. The shape is not just styling — a curve has no cold corners for heat to hide in, sheds rain without a complex roof, and gives you more usable bench length for the ground it stands on.
Our pods run from a compact two-person cabin up to a six-person oval with a separate changing room and a covered terrace. Every one is built in Estonia, delivered UK-wide, and available with electric, wood-fired or off-grid gas heat.
The Kaari range — oval pods with a changing room
The Kaari pods are the ones people stop and look at: a continuous oval shell, round porthole windows, and a partitioned interior that puts a hot room and a changing room inside a single 4-metre building.
That partition is the important part. Heat a whole 4 m shell and you are looking at roughly 15 m³ of air and a 12–18 kW heater to match. Split it, and the heated room is 6–9 m³ — quick to temperature, steady once there, and comfortable on a sensibly sized heater. It is also what makes off-grid gas viable on a building this size.
- Kaari 195 — the compact one, under 2 m wide, 2–4 person. Fits down the side of most houses.
- Kaari 240 — 4–6 person, Ø900 round window and a three-porthole timber door.
- Kaari 240 Panorama — the same shell with a 1.5 m circular window filling one end.
- Kaari 240 Terrace — covered open terrace under the same roof instead of an enclosed changing room.
- Kaari 300 — the largest, 3 m wide, with a covered terrace and integrated log store.
Compact pods
- Pod Sauna 1.6m — the smallest, for one or two people.
- Gas Sauna Pod 2.4m — gas-ready, with an electric option.
Why choose a pod?
- Efficient shape. No cold corners, less air volume than a square cabin of the same bench space, so it heats faster and runs cheaper.
- It looks like a garden feature, not a shed. The curve is the whole point.
- Real Finnish heat. A proper stove and stones, water on the rocks, löyly — not an infrared cabin.
- Your choice of heat. Electric, wood-fired, or off-grid propane with no cable and no trench.
Pod, barrel or cube?
A pod gives you the curved shell and, on the larger Kaari models, a changing room inside the same footprint. A barrel is the traditional curved form and the best value way into a real sauna. A cube has more headroom and sits flat against a wall or fence, which often decides it on a narrow plot. See the full outdoor sauna range or the Estonian-built Nordic saunas.
Sauna pod FAQs
How much does a garden sauna pod cost?
Our pods start at £4,495 for a compact two-person model complete with a heater, and run to about £13,995 for a six-person Kaari 300 with a gas heater fitted and commissioned. Most Kaari buyers land between £10,200 and £13,000 including the heater. Budget separately for a base.
How many people fit in a sauna pod?
Two in the smallest, four to six in a Kaari 240, six in a Kaari 300. Those are honest hot-room numbers. If you see a 4 m pod advertised as an eight-to-ten person sauna, that figure counts the changing room as seating and assumes you are heating the entire shell.
Can a sauna pod run without electricity?
Yes. An off-grid propane heater runs from a standard gas bottle, so there is no armoured cable, no trench and no electrician's quote. Wood-fired is the other no-electrics option. Both are available across the Kaari range.
What base does a sauna pod need?
A level, load-bearing, well-draining base — paving slabs on a compacted sub-base, or a concrete pad for the heavier models. The larger Kaari pods weigh 1,400–1,700 kg before anyone is inside, so a slab is the sensible answer at that size.
How long does a pod take to heat up?
A 6–9 m³ hot room reaches temperature in roughly 30–45 minutes from cold with a correctly sized heater. The curved shell and 42 mm walls are what let it hold that heat once it gets there.
Do you build it for me?
Yes. Pods arrive flat-packed and our construction service starts at £500. We apply insulating paste between every panel as we build — the single most common reason a sauna underperforms is gaps between panels, and it is invisible once the building is closed up. Full installation guide.
