Steam & Oak Absolute Zero — 1 Person Outdoor Ice Bath

The Absolute Zero is a single-person cold plunge built to live outside all year. A 1HP chiller holds the water as low as 3°C and keeps it there, so the tub is ready when you are rather than needing ice bags every session. It runs from a standard 13 amp supply, with no hard wiring needed.

You lie back in it rather than crouching: the white acrylic shell is 2.14 m long and shaped for a full-length soak, with a slatted side deck at one end for your towel and your phone. It comes with a black or white cabinet.

Why it works

• Constant cold: the 1HP refrigeration unit cools the water and then holds your set point, so the temperature stays where you left it between sessions.
• Clean water, fewer changes: a filtration system and an ozone generator run together to keep the water clear between refills.
• Insulated: PU foam insulation surrounds the shell, so the chiller works less to hold the temperature, especially in summer.
• Touchscreen control: set the temperature and session timer from the panel on the tub. It shows the live water temperature at a glance.
• Two water jets: circulation moves the water past your skin, which breaks up the thin warmer layer that forms around a still body.
• LED lighting: underwater and edge lighting for evening sessions.
• Cover included: keeps debris out and the cold in.

What ozone water treatment does

Ozone is a form of oxygen with three atoms instead of two (O₃). The generator makes it on board from air and feeds it into the water as it circulates. That third oxygen atom is unstable, so ozone reacts quickly with whatever it touches: it breaks down bacteria and the organic residue a body leaves in the water, such as sweat, skin oils and lotions. Once it has reacted it turns back into ordinary oxygen, leaving no chemical smell or residue behind.

The filter catches the particles and the ozone deals with what the filter cannot trap. Working together, they keep the water fresher for longer, so you change it less often and need far less chemical sanitiser. Most owners still add a small, regular dose of sanitiser as a backstop, and we will tell you exactly what to use when your tub arrives.
