The reason the set matters is the physics of the bench. Air temperature alone does not describe a sauna. Water thrown onto stones at 300 to 400 °C flashes instantly to vapour, and that spike in humidity is what raises the rate of heat transfer to skin, which is why a 70 °C cabin with steam feels far hotter than a dry 90 °C one. A combined thermometer and hygrometer lets you read both variables and repeat a session you liked, rather than guessing. The ladle controls dose, the bucket keeps water within reach of the bench, and the timer gives you a fixed reference for round length.
