PortaPlunge CUBE | Single Cold Plunge Pool
The PortaPlunge CUBE is the entry point into cold-water therapy without committing to a permanent installation. Single-person inflatable cold plunge pool in drop-stitch, heat-sealed PVC — strong enough for consistent daily use, light enough to deflate and pack away, and priced as a starter rather than a flagship.
It is the right pool for buyers who want to test cold immersion as a routine before committing to a chiller-equipped tub, for renters who cannot install permanent kit, and as a contrast-therapy companion to a PortaSauna HEX or HEXXL.
Drop-stitch construction is the meaningful technical detail here. Two PVC layers are bonded by tens of thousands of internal threads of consistent length, then inflated under pressure — the result is a wall that holds rigid shape under load rather than flexing like a paddling pool. Heat-sealed seams (no glue) keep the panels watertight under sustained pressure cycles. This is the same construction principle as a quality SUP board, scaled to a tub geometry.
Construction and durability
Premium drop-stitched, heat-sealed PVC walls hold structured shape once inflated, giving the tub a more stable feel than basic inflatable plunge pools. The single-person cabin geometry is sized for focused daily use rather than shared sessions — narrower footprint, faster fill, less water to chill if you are using ice.
Use case and protocol
The CUBE is built around a simple operational pattern: inflate, position, fill from a garden hose, add ice if cooling below ambient, plunge. No electrical install, no permanent hardware. For daily sub-15°C protocols, water can be cooled with ice or pre-frozen ice packs; the insulated wall slows the rewarming process meaningfully compared to a hard-shell tub of similar size. For contrast cycles, the CUBE pairs naturally with a PortaSauna HEX in a sauna-then-plunge routine.
Ownership and storage
The advantage of an inflatable platform is reversibility — when you are not running cold therapy actively, the CUBE deflates and stores in roughly the volume of a large rucksack. That makes it practical for buyers in flats, retreat properties used seasonally, or households where a permanent installation is not yet justified by the actual frequency of use. Drain via the integrated drain valve into a garden or drain point.
Delivery & site preparation
- Standard delivery: Free standard delivery is included.
- Setup: Inflate, position, then fill from a garden hose. No electrical installation required.
- Floor loading: Once filled, PVC plunge pools carry significant water weight — confirm the placement surface (patio, decking, lawn, indoor floor) can support the load before filling.
- Drainage: Drain via the integrated drain valve and hose connection; site near a suitable drain point or open ground.
- Use: Outdoor or covered indoor placement. Check floor loading and surface protection before any indoor use.
Technical specification
- Capacity: 1 person
- Construction: Drop-stitched, heat-sealed PVC walls
- Fill: Manual — garden hose
- Cooling: Ambient or ice-cooled (no built-in chiller)
- Drainage: Integrated drain valve / hose connection
- Use: Outdoor; covered indoor placement with floor protection
- Storage: Deflates and packs down for storage
