Hekla Indoor Traditional 210X — Real Finnish Sauna, 4-5 Person
The 210X is the wider sibling of the Traditional 210 — same height and width but 40cm deeper, opening up the floor plan for 4-5 people instead of 3-4. The extra room makes a real difference for shared sessions: more bench length, more stretching space, easier to lie down. Same Hekla build quality, same UK manufacturer, same proper Finnish sauna ritual — just sized for family use.
Built around a Harvia "The Wall" 9kW heater with stones included — the bigger heater needed for the larger volume — and 48mm thermo aspen walls that give Hekla its quality signature.
Running cost + warm-up
The Harvia 9kW heater pulls about 9 kWh peak — bigger sauna, bigger heater. Run cost at 30p/kWh is typically £2.50–£3.25 per 90-minute session. Warm-up from cold to working temperature (80–90°C) takes around 30–40 minutes. Once warmed, the larger 8.8m³ volume holds heat for longer between löyly throws — practical for sessions with more people getting in and out.
Why the 210X over the 210
- 40cm deeper interior — 2,000mm vs 1,600mm. That's enough for a proper full-length recline.
- 4-5 person capacity — fits couples + kids, or four adults for shared sessions.
- Harvia 9kW heater instead of 6kW — heat recovery between sessions is faster, important for multi-person use.
- 40-amp electrical supply — slightly more demanding than the 25-amp 210, but standard for sauna sizing.
What makes Hekla Traditional different
- 48mm thermo aspen wood walls — aspen has the lowest thermal conductivity of any common sauna wood, so benches stay comfortable even at 90°C. Thermo treatment (heat + steam, no chemicals) stabilises the wood and makes it more durable.
- 8mm grey safety glass on the door and window — proper safety spec, tempered for thermal shock.
- Harvia "The Wall" 9kW heater with Xenio digital control — Harvia is the named gold standard in every Finnish sauna review. Stones included.
- Chromotherapy LED lights + bluetooth sound system built in.
- Built-in non-slip vinyl floor grid.
- Choice of two finishes — Nero (dark, modern) or Scandi (lighter wood tone).

Delivery & site preparation
- Standard delivery: Free standard UK delivery is included.
- Site: Indoor saunas need a level floor with clear access from front door to final placement room. The 210X needs more floor space than the 210 — measure 2,100 × 2,000mm plus working clearance.
- Electrical: The Harvia 9kW heater needs a dedicated 40-amp single-phase circuit connected by a qualified electrician before first use.
- Ventilation: Sauna ventilation valve included; ambient room ventilation (extractor) needs consideration for humidity management.
- Installation: Cabin assembly available — typically a full day for a 2-person team.
